This is so disappointing in light of the 5 steps to forcing an end of the genocide announced by the cohort of Islamic scholars, including CAIR.
Step 2 - embargo on oil and gas that continues to Israeli energy reserves...
Clearly the goal won't be reached by those in power. It will take popular uprising across the Muslim and non-Muslim world to force our governments to do our will.
Thanks, Shaun. Let's not forget the impact of the prior Arab Spring movements abroad or Occupy movements here. Occupy was the closest that Americans came to a non-partisan front that directly challenged corporate greed and private equity. How can we get that energy stirred up again? Will it take another market crash? White Americans especially but black and brown ones too (the ones trying to play the capital game) need to feel serious pressure on their wallets to wake up. The illusion of safety and future bounce-back needs to be smashed or else the commonly appealed to wisdom of “wait it out” will prevail.
I was a little young, dumb and privileged to realize how much significance Occupy had at the time. The wealth gap is the only thing I can think that speaks to normal, i.e. non-millionaires, people on both sides of the aisle. Are we a world that wants many people to suffer from lack of basic needs so that the few can have an AI- generate paradise?
My current work has been attempting the difficult conversations with friends and family and acquaintances who bought the divisive narratives to try to reveal to them their own innate goodness - they can't really believe in a private salvation (whether earthly or heavenly) for few. It just doesn't make sense for any believer in an all good, loving God.
I've found that reminding people of their own human frailty AND dignity usually sparks something of an positive and empathic response; they want to do good once they start trusting that they are good at the core.
It's a slow process of individual dialogue, but in my experience real converse has the potential to hit a lot deeper into the heart than grandiose declarations, commitee resolutions, or policy.
Feelings only change as our personal experiences change, which can only happen directly and individually, face to face.
What’s a slap in Palestinian’s face is you leaving those that are actually providing the arms, technology, impunity, and POURING money into Israel for their cybersecurity, real estate project not to mention the weapons. And then focusing on Egypt that has “its balls” held by Israel and the US cuz it’s fully dependent on US money because Israel exists.
Yes, Sisi is a coward. And yes, Sisi doesn’t have balls anymore to face it. And he certainly doesn’t know how to play politics. But HE IS NOT the one aiding and abetting the genocide!
So is that how we re-become famous? By re-spreading the Ummah’s dirty laundry in western media and omit the real perpetrators?
Pls, do me a favor don’t speak for Palestinians. But rather empower their thoughts and voices.
Bewildered why Middle Eastern countries which get abundant sun do not invest in scientists, build their own solar panels and battery storage facilities, and eliminate the need for oil and gas
Sisi is a spineless bastard. Not surprised he’s servile towards Israeli genocidal maniacs. He only performs his tough guy act in front of his own people and against human rights activists showing solidarity with Gaza/Palestine. 😑
Aren’t Egyptians proud to be so rather than be called Arabs; nevertheless it’s a despicable act but money rules and no integrity whatsoever when money and power are involved! 😢
I don't even know if I could call it betrayal. This man has never been a friend.
Exactly. He was placed in power to do these very things. Now he’s just being the obedient dog.

I agree John

Plundering Palestinian resources.
Sisi is an 🇮🇱whore, like Saudi, a willing parasite.
They are smiling now... They are smiling now...
Egypt is a Muslim Nation. The IDF Butchers Assault Worshippers at the Al Aqsa Mosque. 377,000
Palestinians have been Slaughtered by the IDF , With USA Weapons. Sisi deserves a FATWAH
