I have opened up comments for us to really talk about this. It's a crisis. The overwhelming majority of Americans don't want BILLIONS of our taxes going to fund the genocide but only SIX people in Congress still have the guts we need.
Wonderful question. I've met them all. I respect parts of their politics but for me, funding the genocide is a red line. If you fund it, I can't support you. Period.
At least 2 of the 3 you named plan on running for President.
At this point, I think we need to scrap the word progressive from our vocabulary. It doesnβt mean anything anymore. Half the people claiming the label are backing genocide or staying silent while democracy burns. Theyβre not consistent, and they sure as hell donβt support those who take a real stand. Just look at the silence around impeachment. Itβs performative brandingβ¦nothing more. https://zorhasbsfreezone.substack.com/p/shri-thanedars-trump-impeachment?r=34v1yl
It was an honor meeting you at the ICNA conference in Silicon Valley 2 weeks ago. Hereβs the clip from from the Q&A on the panel on Enduring Resilience which I believe was the highlight of the conference:
May your voice continue to inspire many millions of American youth searching for clarity and spiritual belonging and being guided to the light of Islam βͺοΈ.
Also, thank you for standing up for justice! My parents were 1948 refugees from Yaffa, Palestine and itβs been 77 years that they have been prevented from returning to their homes because their homes were stolen like hundreds of thousands of other Palestinians.
We commend the six members of Congress for standing up for America. History will record those who stood up for justice and they will be remembered with honor.
We also commend Stephen Colbert for standing up for Gaza and amplifying Gaza:
Colbert interviews Clarissa Ward on what is tearing people apart in the U.S. - Gaza π΅πΈ not Iran.
Thereβs a lot to be shared and looking forward to many more of your inspirational writings.
Also; I remember when you just began on YouTube after what happened with IG, and proudly subscribed when you were at 25K subscribers.
Alhamdulillah, today you are at over 1 million and by the will of Allah you will surpass and do better and greater and it will be IGβs loss that they lost you.
We make duaβ supplication for all the oppressed and look forward to the next time you visit the SF Bay Area.
Go ahead and thank MTG, but never ever "trust" her. Her vote is not about any care for anyone's lives. Be glad for whatever reason she did it, but she didn't do it for you.
And yet she voted for Trumpβs big beautiful bill. She has consistently voted to defund everything those same young people she claims to care about need in order to get by. She isnβt doing the right thing because it is the right thing. She is doing it because she hates Jewish people. And while one can see how that is a currently popular position, it is a bad long-term reason for doing anything.
Excellent article! And you make a great point as well. I donβt like her either but I have found myself going back and forth with people in their parties. I canβt stand either party and the Dems lost my respect from when Bernie was running. I go by issues and who is supporting or not supporting those issues.
There are all kinds of people on both sides that are tired of our tax dollars going there and for funding genocide. How do they live with themselves? I too will focus on the 6. β€οΈππ½
I don't see it as 'both sides.' For me there is only the Uniparty, with different styles, but as this vote shows, we wouldn't be in this present situation if they 'both' hadn't brung us here.
You said you wanted honest dialogue. Please give this room to fit in that category.
People are afraid of the Muslim Religion and practices. Just in the headlines was a story of a father who tried to kill his daughter for a honor killing somewhere in WA state. For women it looks like hell to live in a country where Sharia Law is practiced, unless you think burning a women to death while she is locked in a cage as a righteous practice. Then there are the rape gangs, the birth defects and still births from the consanguineous unions and the statements that the religion wants to kill all non-believers. (These statements appear frequently on social media sites.)
What is happening in Palestine is genocide.
The average American (that would be the overwhelming majority) are very removed from this crisis. (Ask one of them who T Massie or MTG are and you will get a deer in the headlights.) Home ownership is no longer an option for most, divorce continues to soar, pornography addiction rages, children face ideologic indoctrination, societal values are collapsing and it is very apparent that few if any politicians can be trusted. Today, one person commits suicide every 11 minutes and we are more concerned with the price of eggs.
It has been said many times before that we are going through a societal collapse. Money and power are all that matter.
Many of our elected officials being on the leash of Israel is also something that the average Joe can't wrap his brain around. To believe that the supposed greatest country in the world is just a proxy country for Israel is more than anyone wants to consider. In most "polite circles," this is considered crazy talk.
That our sitting president can tell us that protecting an elite class of pedophiles is something we just need to get over, seals the deal in how much control Israel has over this country.
It appears this is a two edged sword. On one side is the very real, fully supported, genocide and on the other is a culture which is a major offender of human rights. That the innocent are the ones to suffer is just business as usual when it comes to human conflict.
This does not make the suffering any less real.
Thank you for your work. Please continue to advocate for those who can not.

I guess I know how you feel
Whereβs AOC, Khanna, Jayapal, and others who pose as progressives?
Wonderful question. I've met them all. I respect parts of their politics but for me, funding the genocide is a red line. If you fund it, I can't support you. Period.

You absolutely right about that!!
Canβt believe Iβm beginning to agree more and more with MTG
Agreed. I am quite disappointed in the progressive Democrats who have been so outspoken against the Trump regime!

Wa-Alaikum-Salaam my dear brother! It is so good to hear from you and to have you here. Please send my salaams to your entire family.
AOC didn't vote against? I guess she's full of shit, huh?
She didn't. Anyone planning on running for President votes for Israel. it's an unspoken rule.
Watching from Canada; what happened to Mr. Bernie Sanders? Was he not present at this voting? Or did he also vote?
Iβd like to know that too. He has been vocal on this issue for a long time in support of Palestine.β€οΈππ½
American Politics we have Representatives and Senators. Sanders is a Senator and was not part of this vote, with that I am surprise about AOC.

AOC posts frequently that she doesnβt take special interest money. Is that true?
