My dear mother, who was born just one decade after the Holocaust ended, always taught me about it when I was growing up. She would show me documentaries and movies and books about it. And learning about it had a huge impact on me. And one of the most distinct memories I have, including in movies like Life Is Beautiful (whose lead actor speaks out on the genocide in Gaza by the way), is of little kids, often boys his age, hiding wherever they could from the Nazis.
Now they hide from the Israelis.
I truly believe that in the future, generations will think of Israelis just like I grew up thinking of the Nazis. It’s already happening.
I am so ashamed of the world we live in. I feel like the tide is turning, but it’s WAY too slow.
