It's not color. It's culture. I am not being funny, but you do understand how culture informs how each of us see and understand the world, correct? Of course I don't think color itself forms thoughts or words, but the color of your skin impacts the life you live on this planet, it impacts your culture and background. It's not a non factor.
Shaun- you have to be taught that colour of skin or ‘ethnic origin’ is something to look out for. I was never taught that. There is only one race-the human race.
I think mankind’s greatest failure is in conferring different qualities in human beings based on how they look.
You can only judge a combination of a persons’ words and actions.
Skin colour IS a non factor. It’s what we were taught by our parents.
Not how I was brought up- nor is it the first thing people notice in Scotland. I lived and worked in the Middle East for years. No-one there judges me on my colour. They loved that I spoke Arabic.
I should add-that my family was always a 'rainbow family'-long before pop stars invented that name. You obviously have a different experience -living in America-but words and actions are the only issues that inform me about anyone.
