“Amir walked 12 kilometers to get food, got nothing but scraps, thanked us for it… and died.”
These are the words of Lt. Col. Tony Aguilar, a 25-year U.S. Army Green Beret and Purple Heart recipient who was stationed inside Gaza working for the U.S.-Israeli-run Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
In a gut-wrenching interview with Offir Gutelzon and journalist Noga Tarnopolsky, Aguilar breaks down as he shares what he saw — and why he can no longer stay silent.
🔗 [Full interview embedded below — and the clip of Amir’s story at the top of this post.]
Here’s what he said — in his own words:
“On May 28, at secure distribution site #2, this young boy, Amir, walks over to me, reaches out & kisses my hand…”
“This boy is not wearing shoes. His clothes are falling off of him because he is so skinny… He doesn’t have a box — he has half a bag of rice, lentils, and he was thanking us.”
“He walked 12 kilometers to get there … and when he got there, he thanked us for the crumbs he got … and he set them on the ground with his frail, skeletal, emaciated hands, and he kissed me and said ‘thank you.’”
“And then he collected his items, walked back to the group, and then he was shot at — with pepper spray, and tear gas, and stun grenades, and bullets…”
“They are shooting into this crowd. Palestinians, civilians, human beings — are dropping to the ground. And Amir was one of them.”
“Amir walked 12 kilometers to get food, got nothing but scraps, thanked us for it… and died.”

🟥 This is not an accident. This is genocide.
Aguilar calls what he saw “criminal.” And he’s not alone.
He is one of multiple U.S. and Israeli whistleblowers who are confirming what we’ve been saying for months:
This famine is manufactured. This violence is intentional. And it is funded by the U.S. government.
At the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation:
Aid trucks were destroyed or looted by Israeli forces
Civilians were fired upon at food lines
U.S. contractors were ordered to use force against starving families
And aid was used as a weapon of war to humiliate, starve, and break an entire people
🧠 What kind of nation kills a child who says thank you?
Amir kissed a soldier’s hand for half a bag of lentils.
And they shot him anyway.
There is no way to sanitize that. No way to “both sides” it.
This is not defense.
This is not accidental.
This is depravity.
🧨 The United States is not just watching this.
We are paying for it.
The trucks. The bullets. The stun grenades. The gas. The policies. The silence.
Every single one of them is stamped Made in the USA.
📣 So what are you going to do?
Because Amir’s story should haunt all of us.
If you're still human.
If you still feel anything.
If the image of a barefoot boy saying “thank you” before being shot makes you ache — then you must speak.
