⚡️ “He was starved to death…”
Do you see his body? I have never seen an adult so emaciated in my entire life.
“He was starved to death.”
That is what the Palestinian Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza had to say as he stood there beside the emaciated body of Mohammed Al-Sawafiri, a Palestinian man with special needs.
Just hunger. Deliberate, enforced, and ignored.
Mohammed had lived his whole life in Gaza.
He couldn’t eat on his own. He relied on others.
On feeding tubes. On supplements. On care.
And he even survived nearly 2 years inside of this genocide.
And like so many vulnerable people in Gaza right now — the elderly, infants, disabled Palestinians — he was starved first.
🍽️ Famine is hitting the most vulnerable first
Babies without formula.
Disabled people with dietary needs.
Elderly people too weak to chew solid food.
Patients who need IV nutrition.
All of them are now dying faster than anyone else.
Because there is no special care in Gaza anymore.
Not because the hospitals failed — but because the hospitals were bombed.
Not because the food ran out — but because the food was blocked.
🛑 This is not a tragedy. It’s a tactic.
Palestinians in Gaza are not just starving — they are being starved.
By Israel.
With weapons and funding and approval from the United States.
And with silence from every major institution that claims to stand for human rights.
Today, by local estimates, was the single deadliest day for starvation deaths in Gaza so far.
And it’s not a surprise.
It’s the inevitable outcome of a siege that was designed to do exactly this.
📜 Under international law, this is a war crime
The Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits the use of starvation as a method of warfare.
The Rome Statute of the ICC classifies it as a war crime.
Collective punishment — especially against civilians with disabilities — is banned.
And yet no accountability has come.
Because the criminals run the courtrooms.
And the enforcers write the checks.
🎥 Why you won’t see this on the news
You won’t see Mohammed’s name on CNN.
You won’t hear his story told by U.S. officials.
You won’t see his face on Instagram without it being flagged, shadowbanned, or removed.
Because his death is too inconvenient.
Too revealing.
Too much of a crack in the narrative.
But we will tell it here.
And we will tell it again.
And we will keep telling these stories until the blockade falls and the siege ends.
