University Women’s Basketball Coach Face Allegations of Racism

The coach of the University of North Carolina’s (UNC) women’s basketball team is under investigation for reportedly making racist remarks. The comments allegedly followed the team’s win against Howard University, a historically Black university. Sylvia Hatchell and her staff were placed on administrative leave as the university’s athletic department investigates “issues raised by student-athletes and others,” The Washington Post

    That means nothing. She can still be a racist.

  2. I have an older white female professor that I adore. But she has, on several occasions, made racially inappropriate comments towards myself, my cohort and other academic faculty. The difference is I do not fear backlash, so I have spoken to her in private about her comments and WHY they are racist. Do I believe she means ill harm to me? Absolutely not. But I also have to hold her accountable for her comments.
