During a hearing on Tuesday, April 9, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Financial Services Chair Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) traded barbs about the Democrats’ request to disclose President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Things did not go well for the administration’s official.
Mnuchin, sitting for a House Ways and Means Committee hearing, attempted to delay the House’s request to turn over six years worth of President Trump’s tax returns. He said Trump’s legal team is still reviewing the request. While attempting to leave for "an important meeting," Mnuchin promised that he would not return to the House if Waters asked. “I will cancel my meeting and I will not be back,”
