America’s justice system, what Shaun and many others have taken to calling the legal system since justice is rarely achieved, is not one system. 


Thousands of policies, laws and people make up these systems, which means thousands of policies, laws and people must be changed in order to reinvent these systems. When plans to tear them down are formed, this fact is essential to understand. It can be daunting to take on the task of reforming this way, of taking these unjust systems apart piece by piece. Yet it can also be liberating because it means everyday voters hold the power.
