Absolutely right, Shaun King, when you say that this was a mandate -- not for him to win an election, but for his new administration to *govern* as he campaigned, to put responsive pieces (and later, larger programs) into place as soon as possible for the people who desperately need them, for people who believe he can do it and gave him a chance to prove it. This is an example that should shake up the entire country.
Well said Shaun, Zohran's victory is really significant in terms of what he overcame. Here's hoping he can deliver on his vision and improve things for the people of NYC.
Agreed Mr. Oraby, I hope not either. If he sticks true to his views and acts on his plans and puts them into practice, it could be really positive for the city, in my view

So happy for Zohran Mamdani the first Muslim Mayor of New York ❤️ & all 102K volunteers and the supporters, and all New Yorkers, and the new generation of young students across America 🇺🇸.
A political earthquake just happened in America 🇺🇸 and the time to end the status quo and bring change has begun. Let’s call it:
“We the people 2.0”
Today is the first day for the next shake up in America 🇺🇸: November 3, 2026
One of the comic themes should be so easy for anyone running:
I am an older white lady and am so happy that Zohran won. We need younger, more diverse people in politics to bring fresh ideas and more engagement among constituents.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts. I am going to write 2 more articles today on what I hope will be next and what I fear will be next...

It's too soon for me to have any significant thoughts; all I have is some big feelings:
❤️👏💕
I hope that after his being elected, he won't water down his plans just to please either the public or his oppositions.
I will write about this today. Inshallah he won't.

Asalamu alaikum Shaun
