🕊️ You Have 2 Hours Left to Change the Story for One Orphan in Gaza
We’ve already sponsored 1,330 orphaned children. Before midnight, you can still step in for one more child who has lost everything.
Family,
It’s late. You’re probably tired. I am too.
We’ve been pushing for almost 24 hours straight, and as I sit here and type this, 1,330 orphaned children in Gaza are now sponsored through our campaign with Human Concern International.
I keep seeing that number in my head like it’s written in light.
1,330.
I’m proud of us for that. Deeply.
But I also know what the next two hours represent.
LaunchGood set this up as a challenge:
In this 24-hour window, whichever charity sponsors the most orphans receives an extra $15,000 for their project.
At midnight, that challenge ends. The prize goes somewhere. The window closes.
Whatever number we’re at when the clock hits zero is the number we carry forward.
So if my words have ever meant anything to you, I’m asking you — quietly but firmly — to do one more thing tonight:
👉🏽 Click here to sponsor an orphaned child in Gaza before this challenge ends.
What this really is (beyond the numbers)
Let me talk to you plainly, not as a headline or a campaign, but as your friend.
Somewhere in Gaza, there is a child who will go to sleep tonight in a tent, or on a cold floor, without a mother to tuck them in or a father to whisper “it’s going to be OK.”
The world took that from them.
I can’t give them their parents back. You can’t either. None of us can.
What we can do is make sure that child is not also facing the next five years with nothing.
That’s what this is.
When you sponsor an orphaned child through this project, you’re saying:
“I can’t fix everything, but I will stand next to you.”
“I will help make sure you eat, have a place to sleep, and can go to school.”
“I will be there, quietly, from now until 2029.”
That’s what $99/month for 5 years becomes. Not just a number. A relationship, even if you never know each other’s names.
If you can step into that tonight for one child, please do it now:
👉🏽 Sponsor an orphan in Gaza here.
For the people who feel torn
I know some of you reading this feel two things at once:
You are moved.
You are also stretched thin — emotionally, financially, spiritually.
Maybe you’ve already given a lot this year. Maybe you’re caring for your own family in ways nobody sees. Maybe the news out of Gaza has wrecked you and you feel like whatever you do won’t be enough.
I understand all of that.
What I’m asking you to consider is this:
If you have room in your life to carry one more commitment — not infinite, not endless, just one more — let it be a child who lost everything in Gaza.
For my Muslim family:
This is Zakat-eligible. If you’ve been waiting, unsure where to put your Zakat or extra sadaqah, this is one of the clearest answers I know.
Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was an orphan. Our reward for caring for orphans isn’t symbolic; it’s explicit.
For those who are not Muslim:
You are part of this circle too. You don’t have to share my faith to share my conviction that we cannot abandon these kids.
Your sponsorship is tax-deductible in the US and Canada.
And beyond tax forms, you’ll know in your heart that you took a stand for one child in the worst place on earth to be a child right now.
If you feel that mixture — moved and torn — I’m asking you to lean toward action.
👉🏽 Click here to sponsor one orphaned child.
Why I’m still comfortable asking at this hour
By now you know the basics, but in case you’ve just joined us:
100% of what you give goes directly to Human Concern International (HCI) for this orphan program.
I’ve helped move nearly $4 million in Gaza aid through HCI so far.
HCI is one of the oldest Muslim charities in North America, properly registered and regulated.
The Executive Director, Mahmuda, is a devout, brilliant Muslim woman I know personally and trust with my life.
I now serve as an Ambassador for this work. I do not receive a percentage of the funds raised, and I do not have access to the bank accounts handling your donations.
I am asking you for something big tonight because I trust both the need and the vehicle.
If I didn’t, I’d be quiet.
👉🏽 Sponsor an orphan in Gaza before this challenge ends.
If you’ve already helped us get to 1,330
If you’re one of the people who helped us reach 1,330 orphans sponsored, I want you to hear this:
You have already changed the story for real children. Nothing I say tonight is meant to take away from that.
If you have the capacity to do one more thing in these last two hours, here’s what will have the biggest impact:
Sponsor one more orphan, if you can.
Or send this link to three people you trust — text, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, social — and say, “If you want to do one real thing for Gaza tonight, this is what I chose.”
Here is the link you can share:
👉🏽 Support orphans in Gaza with HCI and Shaun.
In two hours, this specific challenge will be over. The prize will be awarded. The number “1,330” will be whatever we turned it into.
Tomorrow, the work goes on. The kids still wake up in Gaza. The grief is still there. But tonight, we have this little window to pull as many of them as we can into a circle of care — and to bring in extra resources for all of them at once.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it.
Thank you for reading this late. Thank you for caring. And thank you to everyone who moves in these last hours.
Love and appreciate each of you.
Your friend and brother,
Shaun
