Yes, Donald Trump Acted a Whole Fool on January 6, 2021 — No, That Has Not Stopped Candidates He's Endorsed from Winning Primaries
As the January 6 hearings continue, there are those who believe that Trump's outlandish actions will be harmful to his brand of conservatism in future elections — except, it hasn't been.

I didn’t have to hear the testimonies of the January 6 committee hearings to know that Donald Trump was a raging maniac on January 6, 2021 — I knew he was a raging maniac well before the insurrection ever happened. Still, it was lowkey shocking just how unhinged he was as his dreams of being re-elected were slipping beyond his grasp. The testimony from former White House aide, Cassidy Hutchinson was wild as shit, even by the below-sea-level expectations I had for Trump’s temperament. Dude was actually demanding that his security detail bring him to the US Capitol so that he could walk among his fellow nationalists, boasted about being “the fucking president,” tried to grab the steering wheel from his driver who was looking to bring him back to the West Wing, and then tried to choke the driver all so that he could be in the mix with fellow domestic terrorists.
I mean, maybe I should have not been surprised that he took it to that level of ratchet, but apparently, his behavior was more shamelessly thuggish and outlandish than I would have given him credit for getting to. Needless to say, I will never again doubt how buffoonish Donald John Trump can act, as that display was presidential-level ignorance.
And after hearing about Trump’s antics, which among other things included him wanting the insurrectionists to be able to go to the Capitol strapped with automatic weapons, it would seem that any would-be baby Trump acolyte with dreams of being an elected official at the state or federal level would say to themselves “maybe I need to reconsider getting this Trump co-sign.” But in order for that logic to apply, we would have to be living in a non-bizarro history where the endorsement of a treasonous ex-president would be a political death knell.
And alas, we are not.
