I want to pause today from the breaking news and investigations to speak to you directly about our community here. I am so proud of what we are building.

This past week, my articles and coverage of the Israeli intelligence agent that was arrested for sex crimes against children in Las Vegas, then allowed by the Trump administration to flee back to Israel, have made international news all over the world and is now one of the most talked about topics across social media.

Then we learned that the State of Israel literally demanded that my tweets about the case, which went super viral be deleted, and Twitter/X complied with the demand.

That’s why I need you to become a member here today! It’s one of the only places I’m not censored.

We now average over 30 million visits every single month. That makes us one of the Top 3 most visited independent news platforms in the world on Substack. That is extraordinary. It means millions of people are reading, learning, and sharing the work we are doing together.

But here’s the contrast. Despite being Top 3 in readership, we are only 13th in paid members. Right now, we have 2,440 paid members. I just learned that the #1 independent platform has over 25,000 paid members — more than 10 times our size.

We’ve come so far, but we’re still just scratching the surface of what’s possible.

That’s why I’ve set a personal goal I know we can achieve: to get us from 2,440 to 2,500 paid members before Monday. That’s just 60 people stepping forward.
