đĄđĄđĄ Two Muslim Nations, Egypt and the UAE, Partner with Israel to Betray Gaza and the Entire Ummah
As the genocide in Gaza enters its third year, multi-billion-dollar deals with Israel reveal a moral collapse that canât be explained away
For over two years now, since October of 2023, the genocide in Gaza has unfolded in front of the entire world. And as it pushes toward its third year, a new kind of horror is settling inâone that doesnât come from bombs, but from billion-dollar signatures.
This week I read two reports that made my stomach turn, because they expose something we need to say out loud: while Gaza bleeds, surrounding nations are not just staying silent. They are doing business.
Before I break this down, I want to ask you from the heart to become a member today. I keep this work free for the worldâfor readers in Gaza, for students in public schools, for families in deep poverty, for elders on fixed incomesâbecause a smaller circle of people who can afford it chooses to carry some of the cost. Now letâs talk about the betrayal.
The deal they hid because they know itâs shameful
A disgusting, but true new report says the United Arab Emirates has been identified as the secret, unnamed buyer behind Elbit Systemsâ âlargest deal in the companyâs historyââa contract valued at $2.3 billion, with deliveries planned over eight years. The outlet cites Intelligence Online as identifying the UAE as the customer.
Elbit Systems is one of the biggest weapons companies in Israel, and it has become one of the clearest corporate engines behind the violence weâve watched unfold since October of 2023. Elbit doesnât just âmake defense productsâ in the abstractâit builds the tools of modern surveillance and warfare: drones, targeting and guidance systems, battlefield communications, electronic warfare, and other technologies designed to make killing more efficient and more scalable. And like so many arms manufacturers, it profits most when the world is on fire. When you see headlines about Elbit posting record profits and giant backlogs during this genocide, thatâs not an accidentâitâs the business model. Every contract is a voteâa decision by a government to keep feeding the machine that has turned Gaza into rubble, and then pretend itâs âjust business.â
And hereâs the part that should make every person with a functioning conscience stop: the components of the deal are reportedly under a publication ban.
That is not a small detail. That is an admission.
When a weapons deal has to be hidden behind legal secrecy, itâs because everyone involved understands the truth: this is despicableâbut theyâre doing it anyway.
For over two years, Israelâs war machine has moved through Gaza with a level of destruction that has horrified people across the planet. The moral test here is simple. If you claim to stand for human life, if you claim faith, if you claim Islamic guidanceâyou donât feed the machine.
But the UAE is reportedly feeding it with $2.3 billion, spread across nearly a decade, while the world is still counting the dead.
And that should make us ask the hardest question: what does it mean when Muslim leadership can find multi-billion dollars for Israelâs weapons industry, while Palestinian families canât find clean water?
The deal they bragged about while Gaza starves
The second report came from The New York Times, written by Ephrat Livni and Johnatan Reiss on December 17th, 2025. They reported that Benjamin Netanyahu approved what he called the âlargest gas dealâ in Israelâs historyâ$37 billionâgranting an export permit so that Chevron and other companies can significantly expand gas deliveries to Egypt, tied to Israelâs Leviathan field.
Netanyahu celebrated it. He said it would strengthen Israelâs regional position and generate massive revenue over time. The article reports an estimated $18 billion in taxes and other revenue for Israel.
So read this slowly: as Gaza enters its third year of genocide, Israel is locking in enormous regional profits, and neighboring governments are signing onto the pipeline.
Egypt is not just âa neighbor.â Egypt controls access to Gaza too. Egypt sees the bodies. Egypt sees the hunger. Egypt sees the displacement. Egypt knows, better than most, what is happening. And yet, here we areâ$37 billion in gas.
This isnât an accident. This is the point.
Genocide doesnât only happen with bombs. It also happens through diplomatic cover, economic normalization, and financial reward. It happens when mass violence is treated like background noise while contracts get inked and leaders smile for cameras.
âIslamic nationsâ with no Islamic guidance
Iâm going to say this carefully, but Iâm going to say it plainly.
Some of these governments love to speak the language of Islam when itâs usefulâwhen it gives legitimacy, when it quiets dissent, when it fills a stadium, when it helps them posture.
But Islam is not a costume. Islam is guidance. And the guidance is clear.
Allah tells us not to cooperate in ظŮŮ and aggression. The Qurâan says, âDo not cooperate in sin and aggression.â (Al-MÄâidah 5:2) And the Prophet  taught us to help our brother whether he is oppressed or an oppressorâby stopping the oppressor from oppression.
So if a government is helping the oppression continueâthrough weapons deals, through energy deals, through normalization dealsâthen no amount of religious branding can wash that clean.
This is not âpragmatism.â This is complicity.
And yes, people will try to argue, âThese are just business agreements.â But thatâs exactly how moral collapse works: you rename evil as business, you rename betrayal as stability, you rename genocide as âcomplexity,â and you keep collecting checks while children die.
The truth nobody wants to say out loud
When people ask how Israel has been able to keep this genocide going since October 2023âwith the level of destruction the world has watchedâthere are two answers.
One is the obvious one: Israel has been armed, funded, and protected by the United States and its allies.
The other is the one that should shame the region to its core: Israel has been normalized and enriched by neighboring states while Gaza is still being crushed.
A $2.3 billion arms deal. A $37 billion gas deal. And the genocide pushes onward.
That is not an accident. That is a choice.
If youâre Muslim and youâre reading this, let this be a mirror. If youâre not Muslim and youâre reading this, understand this too: the betrayal isnât only politicalâitâs spiritual. These deals are a declaration that money and power are being chosen over the most basic human obligations.
And if the people who claim Islam cannot find the courage to stop feeding a machine accused of genocide, then the rest of us have to raise our voices even louder.
