I am sorry that I have to push so hard. Truly. But this is the only way I have that works. So I cannot stop. I won't.

Shaun, the email about building Schools made me wonder why that was the highest priority. In my limited knowledge of what’s going on, I would think it would be more important to have medicine and food and housing. Of course, I believe the children need their schooling and something they can count on. But can they really count on the school? Won’t it just be bombed away as soon as it’s built? I don’t mind the emails, and I give when I can, so I’ll send something today. But ever since I started having a salary 40 years ago, it confounds me that people just keep asking all the time, as if I had any more money today than I had yesterday. It must work because everyone does it, but I am not one that it works with. I will give without being asked, if it doesn’t render me homeless! I just needed to know what was going on, and that that’s what you tell us with your articles. Love your integrity, energy, and compassion. I’m sure like a lot of people, I’ve never experienced all the ways injustice is manifesting, so I appreciate you for countering it and giving us the opportunity to also support what’s right and just. Although i can’t donate (and i worry that the school for orphans will

need armed guards, anti-missile defence and anti-tank weapons) i still

say KEEP ON DOING IT because you are making a real difference.

Most people are raising money for now, for immediate needs, but as soon as the spotlight of media turns its focus away, the aid dies down. You are focused on rebuilding a future for a people whose last vestiges of hope have been crushed, a vast prison-camp where imported anaesthetics and imported shoes are forbidden, and where an orphan on the streets with no school is a terrorist in the making, and it is that focus on the future more than anything that brings back hope.
