🇺🇳The United Nations should absolutely move its HQ from the United States and make this ONE rule change immediately.
It won't be a quick process, but without these two things, the UN is about as useless as a soaking wet cardboard box.

Sisters and brothers,
For some reason, I am in more pain today than normal, as I recover from surgery, so I am going to be pretty direct and to the point, OK?
For the past two years, the United Nations has been completely unable to do anything of substance to stop the war in Gaza, but I want you to hear from me directly that it truly is not the fault of UN leaders and it’s not the fault of almost every member nation. Instead, it really only falls on one nation, and one very bad rule that’s in place.
The United States, as you may know, is 1 of only 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council. And those 5 permanent members are allowed to veto anything they want. And it only has to be one of them.
The United States, with both the Biden administration and the Trump administration, has vetoed every single attempt to stop the genocide. It’s literally 14-1. It’s shameful.
Let me explain…
The UN Security Council has 15 members: five permanent members (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and ten non-permanent members elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms. These permanent members hold the power of veto, while the non-permanent members are elected on a rotating basis, with five new members chosen annually.
But here’s what’s wild, not only have the Biden and Trump administrations tanked every single change to stop this genocide, the United States has vetoed DOZENS of meaningful changes for Palestine going back generations now. Israel doesn’t have the veto power - so the United States functions as their proxy and basically votes on behalf of Israel every chance they get.
And it is KILLING the United Nations. It’s making them useless. The whole organization knows it. But they MUST do something about it.
Here is the Rule Change I Propose
Either, it must take more than one nation to veto a vote and override the entire security council or
The permanent veto must be done away with and it must just come down to a majority vote or
A nation must be able to use a veto on an issue they are personally invested in.
But something has to change about this unlimited, unchecked permanent veto power.
Why I say the United Nations MUST Move Out of the United States
For the first time in the history of the United Nations, a HEAD OF STATE had their American visa revoked because of something they said while in New York City for the UN General Assembly meeting when Trump revoked the visa of Colombian President Gustavo Petro. Mind you, they let Castro speak and he would come there and DOG THE UNITED STATES - because the rule is these heads of state, while in the US for the UN, can say what they need to say.
Perhaps even worse than this, President Trump banned Palestinian leaders who are literally active UN members from entering the United States. They weren’t even able to attend the conference this past week - even though so much of it was about them - while Benjamin Netanyahu - who has been charged with international war crimes by the International Criminal Court was allowed to not only visit the UN, but move and travel freely in the US.
These two egregious violations are no small act. If diplomats and heads of state are not allowed to visit the UN, and visit New York City, without fear of being deported or arrested because of their words, the United Nations should literally move somewhere else that will promise to never do such a thing ever again.
They have no right to ban Palestinian leaders. These leaders aren’t even a part of Hamas or anything like that. They are super moderate and are from the West Bank. But they were banned anyway. Again, this ruins the very purpose of the UN. If the host nation can ban and remove whoever they want, the UN is literally no longer the UN. Period.
What I’m asking of you, right now
If we want a United Nations that actually protects people — not a clubhouse where vetoes bury the truth — then we have to build platforms that say the quiet part out loud and won’t be silenced the next morning. That’s what you’re funding here. Help us clear 3,000 members this week and push toward 5,000 by year’s end so we can keep naming names, pulling receipts, and forcing the reforms this moment demands. Join today — and if you can’t, forward this to three people who care about truth.
Love and appreciate each of you.
Your friend and brother,
Shaun

Would love your thoughts here. Did you all know any of this?
There’s no need for permanent members of the Security Council at all. It’s an anachronism that only exists because otherwise after WW2 the victorious allies never would have supported a UN organization They weren’t about to give up ultimate control over the UN.
