Couldn't agree more! Very nervous but excited to see where things go, Khan is a stellar choice. Just her name strikes fear into the cold, black hearts of massive corporations😈

This one discussion is so good, I had to subscribe. I selected the free plan because I am retired, living on a fixed income. To me, and millions like me, affordability is a key issue. I hope Mamdani runs the table on this issue and several others staring him in the face.

My take is simply that he values experience & can work with any Jew in NYC who supports NYC, no matter if they have different opinions wrt Israel. Diversity of views shows leadership as far as Im concerned. If she later quits, that’s on her & his team could win the PR contest if it comes to that.

As to arresting Netanyahu/Gallant, he used his words carefully: he did say, “within my legal authority as mayor” (or something very similar). Some bright legal experts could possibly find ways to overcome diplomatic immunity issued by federal laws & government, but then he still has to convince the NYPD about this legal theory. And even then, NYPD will also have to overcome the practical challenges wrt other levels of law enforcement & Netanyahu’s personal security. Lastly, extradition to the ICC in the Netherlands is likely a federal matter, definitely not within the jurisdiction of locals. I doubt DOJ will approve extradition of any Israeli citizen to the ICC, never mind Netanyahu ot Gallant.

To manage expectations Mamdani, his team or any of his supporters could publish a legal opinion as to present him with options so we don’t get angry when it doesn’t happen despite all his later explanations why its not possible. And expect Netanyahu or Gallant to challenge them as soon as possible on this (maybe even on 2 Jan 2026).
