🤲🏽 Sunday push: I literally cannot fund and build this school for the young orphans of Gaza without you!
825 donors have carried us this far. Now we need the next wave before Tuesday night.
As-Salaam-Alaikum and good morning from Baltimore!
My friends, it is Sunday morning, and I need us to treat the next few days with real urgency.
Right now, 825 supporters have raised $106,522 to help us build a school for orphaned children in Gaza. That means we are more than 42% funded toward our full $250,000 goal.
Alhamdulillah. That is meaningful. That is serious. That is hundreds of people choosing to turn their concern for Gaza into action. I am grateful for every single donor who has carried us this far.
But we are now facing one of the most important deadlines of the entire campaign.
We have until Tuesday at 7pm EST to reach $150,000.
If we get there, LaunchGood will give this project an extra $10,000 to help build this school.
That means we need to raise $43,478 between now and Tuesday evening.
🏫 Donate now and help us reach $150,000 by Tuesday at 7pm EST
I want to be very clear about why this deadline matters.
The $10,000 bonus is not just a prize. It is construction money. It is classroom money. It is washroom money. It is counselling-space money. It is money that moves us closer to giving hundreds of orphaned children in Gaza a safe, structured, dignified place to learn again.
We have already crossed $100,000. That proves this campaign has life. It proves people believe in this school. It proves that when enough of us move together, a huge goal becomes possible. But if we want the team in Gaza to begin construction on the timeline we need, we cannot let this campaign stall after a big milestone.
The next mountain is $150,000.
And we have to climb it by Tuesday night.
🤲🏽 Give your Zakat, sadaqah, or tax-deductible donation today
For Muslims, we are still in the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah, which are among the most sacred days of the entire year. These are days when we are taught to increase in good deeds, charity, sacrifice, mercy, prayer, and service. For those who are not Muslim, I want to explain it simply: this is a deeply meaningful time for nearly 2 billion Muslims around the world, and giving to orphans, the displaced, and the oppressed carries special weight in these days.
But you do not have to be Muslim to understand this.
A child in Gaza who has lost parents, home, school, routine, and safety needs people with soft hearts to stand up and help. A child who has missed years of learning needs more than sympathy. They need classrooms. They need teachers. They need books. They need a place where adults are planning for their future instead of merely mourning what has been stolen from them.
This school is being designed for orphaned children ages 5–9, serving Grades 1, 2, and 3. These are children who should be learning how to read, write, count, study Qur’an, ask questions, make friends, and sit in a classroom with a teacher who knows their name. Instead, many have spent the past two years surrounded by displacement, hunger, fear, grief, and the loss of family.
A school will not erase all of that trauma, but it can give children a daily rhythm again. It can give them a desk, a whiteboard, a teacher, a courtyard, a safe place to play, counselling support, and adults who are invested in their future.
That is what we are building.
📚 Help us turn this plan into a real school for Gaza’s orphaned children
The proposed school includes 6 fully equipped classrooms with space for approximately 270 children, around 45 students per classroom. It includes 6 washrooms, each with its own separate exterior entrance, an administrative office, a teachers’ room, a dedicated counsellor’s space, solar power support, electrical infrastructure, secure perimeter fencing, and an outdoor artificial grass play area.
And here is the truth I keep coming back to: the team in Gaza can prepare, plan, and believe in us, but they cannot build the school unless we raise the funds.
Good intentions do not pour concrete. Sympathy does not buy desks. Grief does not build washrooms. Outrage does not create classrooms.
Donations do.
That is why I am asking again.
We need $43,478 by Tuesday at 7pm EST to reach $150,000 and unlock the $10,000 LaunchGood bonus. That could happen if about 435 people give $100, or 870 people give $50, or 44 people give $1,000, or 9 people give $5,000, or one major donor decides to carry a huge part of this milestone. Most likely, it will take all of the above: small gifts, medium gifts, major gifts, and people forwarding this email to others who can help.
🇵🇸 Donate now through the verified LaunchGood campaign
This project is organized by Human Concern International. It is LaunchGood verified, tax-deductible, and for Muslims it is Zakat eligible.
And I want to be clear, as always: I am a full-time employee of Human Concern International and have been for more than 2 years. I do not receive fees or personal compensation from this fundraiser.
Not a penny.
I am pushing because these children deserve more than emergency survival. They deserve education, safety, structure, healing, and hope. They deserve a school that tells them, in the language of action, that their lives still matter and their future is still worth building.
We have raised $106,522.
Now we need $150,000 by Tuesday at 7pm EST.
Then we keep going until the full $250,000 is raised and the school can be built, insha’Allah.
🏗️ Please give now and help us unlock the $10,000 bonus for Gaza’s orphans
After you give, please forward this email to 3 people who care about Gaza, children, education, mercy, and justice. Tell them we are $43,478 away from unlocking a $10,000 bonus for a real school for orphaned children in Gaza.
We can do this.
But we have to move now.
Love and appreciate each of you.
Your friend and brother,
Shaun
