Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams announced she will not be seeking a US Senate seat in 2020. Abrams, who nearly became Georgia’s first Black female governor, said she has not ruled out a presidential bid. In a video shared on social media, Abrams said that public service has been a life-long calling for her. “Whether in elected office or as an active citizen, I believe we are required to find solutions to our most intractable problems, and to use our skills to expand opportunity for all,” she said. Abrams, 45, then announced that she would not challenge Republican US Senator David Perdue.
