You could have made the same point by contrasting their obviously healthy well-fed family with starving refugees from any number of other countries. Clearly hunger was not a factor in their decision to emigrate. I haven't read the Mother Jones article, but I suspect the US doesn't take just any white South Africans. They likely have to declare what assets and savings they will bring with them.
That sounds plausible, and a kind of 'emigration deal' would be entirely in character for the racist, transactional nature of the Trump regime. It would also mean a total of zero refugees - real or otherwise - are being offered asylum there. Completely believable.
More important than ever that the search for justice continues! The work that the Hind Rajab Foundation is doing to track down and bring Israeli criminals to justice is one that is vital in the effort to hold Israel accountable. Let us hope they will also turn their sights on the criminal leaders of the countries of the west who are co-perpetrators of these crimes.
