Right now, we have an opportunity to achieve a major goal in the fight for social justice that we simply cannot miss.

I know many of us are tired of hearing, talking and arguing about elections, but I need you to tune in for this one. A few weeks ago, I introduced Gary Chambers as a potential candidate for the soon-to-be vacant seat in the House of Representatives for Louisiana’s 2nd congressional district.

Cedric Richmond is stepping down from the position to serve in the Biden-Harris White House staff, leaving Louisanna without any Black representation in Congress. We need to be the ones to decide who fills this seat.

Gary is the man for the job. He is a brilliant activist and organizer who is passionate about implementing the revolutionary changes this country desperately needs. He has stood by the families of victims of police violence. He has advocated for families whose lives have been toppled by natural disaster.

Gary is a kind, caring, courageous man, and he needs your support.

We expect Gary to announce his campaign for Congress within the next two weeks, but he needs our help. I’m doing something I have never done before and asking every person I know to donate to his campaign at ChambersForChange.com.

His team needs to raise at least $250,000 for Gary to have a real shot at securing this seat. I know this sounds like a lot, but let me break something down for you. Amy McGrath, who ran for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Senate seat, raised over $88 million for her campaign. She lost by 15 percent. Jamie Harrison, who ran for the Senate in South Carolina, broke records by raising $57 million in only three months for his campaign. He lost as well.

After losing the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump has raised nearly $170 million.

The $250,000 Gary’s team needs is only a sliver of what most politicians spend. It’s doable, and we are the ones who must help them do it.
