Tomorrow is one of the most important days in the history of America.

Election Day, the final day to cast your vote, is tomorrow and the anxiety is real. The consequences, good and bad, will be impactful and long-lasting. It's not just the presidential race that's being decided on. Races for the Senate, district attorney offices, as well as hundreds of local positions and vitally important ballot measures will be decided tomorrow.

There is a lot of good to look forward to.

I have faith that many of the revolutionary candidates who I have been backing for months will win. I think there’s a strong chance Democrats will flip the Senate, or at least tie it with Republicans.

Of course, the presidential race is at the center of everything. It has been more hectic than any other I’ve been alive for. Trump has done everything from attempting to deter and delegitimize mail-in voting to suggesting that he may announce himself the winner prematurely or refuse to leave office even if he loses. Everyday it seems there are more than just two possible outcomes, and each seems more terrifying and potentially dangerous than the next.

Trump and his administration have done such egregious harm that the idea of his re-election feels damn near world ending. His re-election would be detrimental to millions.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the very act of voting has been turned on its head. The trends that we usually follow to gauge voter turnout are no longer accurate. Whereas Republicans usually top the number in early voting, Democrats have requested more mail-in ballots than ever before. Since Republicans are vastly more sceptical about the legitimacy of mail-in voting, they are predicted to show up tomorrow in droves to vote in person.

According to major polls, Biden has been leading in many of the most important swing states. This has caused many to call the race prematurely, just like we did in 2016. This race, just like all of 2020, is unpredictable. We can’t let up. It’s crunch time now. Democrats must turn out to vote tomorrow.

Lives depend on it.

On today’s episode of The Breakdown, Shaun unpacks his hopes and fears for the election tomorrow, and why we must fight until the very last vote is cast.
