I need to say this plainly: what I’m about to describe are allegations of organ harvesting and mutilation of Palestinians whose bodies were returned by Israel. These are not just “violations.” They are grave breaches of international law — war crimes and crimes against humanity — the kind that demand arrests, tribunals, and a global wall of accountability.

Revered British‑Palestinian surgeon, Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, just testified about bodies Israel returned to Gaza amid a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. He described seeing images of the deceased and identified organs “now routinely transplanted: the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and corneas.” In his words:

What international law says — in simple terms

International humanitarian law requires respect for the dead and absolutely prohibits mutilation and outrages upon personal dignity. Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions outlaws mutilation and cruel treatment. Customary IHL (ICRC Rule 113) requires that the dead not be despoiled and be handled with dignity. Under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, murder, torture, and inhuman treatment of detained persons, and mutilation are prosecutable war crimes. The non‑consensual removal of organs from detainees — especially if done while alive — would constitute murder and torture. Even post‑mortem desecration and organ removal violate these protections and can be charged.
