Sons of sedition leaving a crime scene with breath in their bodies
White supremacy’s plan having white privilege as its alibi
A Black officer in a stand-off with the legacy of lynchmen
Elected officials taking cover while hiding their support in plain view
A demagogue’s last dance
Portraits of slaveholding ex-presidents winking in approval
A prequel to a modern secession
White tears mutating into cyanide
An open interrogation where the answers are scripted in shit and smeared on the wall
Chickens coming home to roost.
