⏰ Less than 5 hours left: we need $23,331 for Gaza’s school for young orphans by 7pm TONIGHT!
If we reach $150,000 by 7pm Eastern, LaunchGood adds $10,000 to help build this school.
As-Salaam-Alaikum and good afternoon to each of you.
My friends, it is now about 2:20 pm here in New Jersey, and we have less than 5 hours left.
By 7pm Eastern tonight, we need to reach $150,000 for our school for young orphans in Gaza. If we get there, LaunchGood will give this project an extra $10,000 to help build the school.
Right now, 1,092 supporters have raised $126,669.
That means we need $23,331 before the deadline.
⏰ Donate now before 7pm Eastern and help us unlock the $10,000 bonus
I am not going to pretend I am not worried.
We are close enough to make this happen, but we are also far enough away that it will not happen casually. It will not happen if people assume somebody else is going to carry it. It will not happen if we all wait until the final few minutes and hope the money appears.
We have to move now.
And I want to say this with the right balance of urgency and tenderness: this is one of those moments where every gift truly matters. The $5 gift matters. The $50 gift matters. The $100 gift matters. The $500 gift matters. The $1,000 gift matters. And if someone reading this can give $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, or more, this is the moment where a major gift could help us win this bonus for the children.
Today is the Day of Arafah, the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah. For Muslims, this is one of the most sacred days of the entire year — a day of fasting, prayer, dua, repentance, charity, and good deeds. For my non-Muslim friends, I want to explain it simply: this is a day when nearly 2 billion Muslims around the world are especially trying to do good, seek mercy, and help those who are suffering.
And today, the good deed in front of us is clear.
We are trying to build a school for orphaned children in Gaza.
🤲🏽 Give your Zakat, sadaqah, or tax-deductible donation right now
This school is being designed for children ages 5–9, serving Grades 1, 2, and 3. These are young children who should be learning how to read, write, count, study Qur’an, ask questions, play safely, and sit in a classroom with a teacher who knows their name.
Instead, many have spent the past two years surrounded by displacement, hunger, fear, grief, and the loss of family. A school will not erase everything they have endured, but it can give them structure again. It can give them a morning routine, a desk, a whiteboard, a teacher, a courtyard, counselling support, friendship, play, and adults who are invested in their future.
That is what this project is about.
Not a vague idea.
Not a symbolic gesture.
A real school for real children who desperately need a safe place to learn and heal.
The proposed school includes 6 fully equipped classrooms with space for approximately 270 children, around 45 students per classroom. It includes 6 washrooms, each with its own separate exterior entrance, an administrative office, a teachers’ room, a dedicated counsellor’s space, solar power support, electrical infrastructure, secure perimeter fencing, and an outdoor artificial grass play area.
📚 Help us turn this plan into a real school for Gaza’s young orphans
Here is the math before 7pm Eastern.
We need $23,331 to reach $150,000.
That could happen with 5 people giving $5,000, or 24 people giving $1,000, or 47 people giving $500, or 234 people giving $100, or 467 people giving $50.
Most likely, it will take a combination of all of it.
And I want to say this again because it matters spiritually: Allah knows what each of us is capable of giving. Allah knows what is easy for us and what stretches us. A person who gives $5 with sincerity may be giving something deeply beloved to Allah. A person who gives $500 or $5,000 may be using the capacity Allah placed in their hands for something beautiful. Allah knows best.
What I am asking is that each of us gives according to our capacity before this deadline.
🇵🇸 Donate now through the verified LaunchGood campaign before 7pm Eastern
This project is organized by Human Concern International. It is LaunchGood verified, tax-deductible, and for Muslims it is Zakat eligible.
And I want to be clear, as always: I am a full-time employee of Human Concern International and have been for more than 2 years. I do not receive fees or personal compensation from this fundraiser.
Not a penny.
I am pushing because the children are worth it. I am pushing because the team in Gaza is counting on us. I am pushing because we are close enough to unlock this bonus, and I do not want us to leave $10,000 for this school on the table.
We have raised $126,669.
We need $150,000 by 7pm Eastern.
That means we need $23,331 in less than 5 hours.
🏗️ Please give now and help us reach $150,000 before the deadline
After you give, please forward this email to 3 people immediately. Tell them we have less than 5 hours left, we need $23,331, and reaching this milestone unlocks a $10,000 bonus for a real school for young orphans in Gaza.
I am worried, but I am not giving up.
We are close.
Let’s give this everything we have.
Love and appreciate each of you.
Your friend and brother,
Shaun
