Joe Biden Says "White Supremacy is a Poison" and I Cannot Imagine an America That Will Ever Be Serious About Poison Control.

Yesterday, Joe Biden and Jill Biden traveled to Buffalo, New York to visit with the families of those slain in the Buffalo massacre, as well as elected officials and local law enforcement. His mood, as to be expected was somber and upset as he and the First Lady paid their respects at a makeshift memorial dedicated to the victims, and as he addressed the nation regarding the horrendous attack orchestrated by 18-year-old white supremacist, Payton Gendron.
When moments such as the Buffalo massacre occurs, there is hardly ever one catch-all angle to report on it or write about it from. The North Star published two written pieces and recorded a couple of podcasts about the incident within the past week, and it still does not feel like enough has been said by this outlet or any media outlet that can encompass the totality of this tragedy. Every journalism outlet that is interested in either covering the facts or editorializing/providing commentary on this tragedy has to consider what position they will take when reporting on the broken record of anti-Black violence perpetrated by white supremacist racial terrorists. There is no linear path to reporting on stories that are so wide in the intricacies they encompass — especially when considering that as a journalist, these are not moments that are setting historical precedence, rather they are a series of events and timelines and people profiles that differ from incident to incident, but are connected by throughlines of violence, racism, radicalization, gun control, etc., etc.
