And, as the article pointed out, simply relaxed that muscle, demonstrating it wasn't interested in anything but SELF DEFENSE.
Iran and China get that using the power one has offensively creates a demand for an opposing power of greater strength, but using the power one has only when absolutely necessary, and immediately stopping creates a desire to get closer to you. China NOT getting involved in this didn't weaken it, it made it clear that it wouldn't interfere in anything other than the bilateral relationship between it and any other country. So it won't force Columbia to break away from American control to protect Brazil, meaning that when Colombians force their government to break away from the US, there's going to be no organic resistance to Colombia getting close to China, and therefore closer to Brazil.
Bibi didn't agree to a. ceasefire because he is nice. Drumpf may be a dumb bully, but even he knew that $7 diesel is a deathblow to MAGA. So he threw Bibi under the bus. Long overdue.
Yesterday Iran declared Hormuz open. Markets celebrated. Oil dropped 10 percent. The Dow hit record highs.
This morning Iran fired on a tanker and closed Hormuz again.

I agree. Trump is trumpeting a Famous Victory, but it is really a fragile thing. This is particularly true because the Lebanon-Israel treaty defines allowable "self defense" to include its perception that there is some planned attack. They don't have to explain or verify or even IDENTIFY what that "planned attack" is.
Even if Hezbollah as an organization agrees to refrain from attacks, I am sure that some individual members are muttering together about plans, perhaps for the future after the cease fire ends. Something as amorphous as that can trigger an Israeli attack. For that matter, Israel can just assert they found some plan, and who can say them nay.
And Iran doesn't have to believe them to find the cease fire violated.

Even worse, Israel now owns all of southern Lebanon and there is zero way to stop Israelis from taking over the whole region.

What we needed in 2026 was to stop the Usraeli monsters once and for all.
