My uninformed impression is that said passport was issued during a period of expansion of the international sex & drug movement (especially through New York) - however, passports of that kind now would fall under severe scrutiny without 'special dispensation'.
I once had the unfortunate experience of actually hearing him speak (recorded), & if it was truly his voice- anyone would be shocked at the weak, obsequious tonality of it.

May I add one fact not mentioned? I can't say about now, but in 1982, I know for a fact, that one cannot just apply for a visa to Saudi Arabia, and expect to get one. Saudi Arabia wasn't a tourist destination, other than for Hadj. There had to be a real reason to get it, and that reason was more than travel, tourism, or the like. It would definitely be worth knowing what company he was supposed to be manager of. From what I know, I would have to conclude that is was a real company or that visa would not have been issued. Can we find out what company that was?
