⚡ You Read This Work for a Reason — I’m Asking You to Go One Step Further
If these reports have ever helped you see more clearly, here’s why I need you to turn that feeling into action right now
Family,
Every single day now, I’m writing and sharing stories that most of the world would rather not see. Babies freezing in tents in Gaza. Families starved on purpose. Police who kill and never face a single consequence. Politicians who treat human life like a PR problem to manage.
You wouldn’t still be here, opening these emails and reading these pieces, if some part of you didn’t feel: “This matters. This can’t be ignored.”
I need to ask you, directly and plainly, to take one more step with me. If you value this work, click here to become a member or click here to join as a monthly, annual, or founding member today. This is how we keep this work alive, and how we build what comes next.
I don’t have corporate sponsors for this. There is no big media company behind The North Star telling me, “Say it softer,” or “Don’t use the word genocide,” or “Don’t name names.”
It’s just us.
It’s you opening your email on the bus, or in the break room, or late at night when you can’t sleep. It’s you forwarding one of these pieces to a friend or a pastor or a coworker and saying, “You need to read this.”
And it’s a smaller circle of you who decide, “I’m going to put actual money behind the kind of journalism I say I believe in.”
Because I am committed to keeping this work free for the world — for readers in Gaza, in refugee camps, in prisons, in public schools, in deep poverty. People who need this information the most are often the people who can’t pay for it. So when I ask you to become a member, I’m not just asking you to pay for yourself. I’m asking you to help keep the doors open for everybody who can’t.
If you’re in a position to do that, I’m asking you from the heart: click here to become a member or click here to join as a monthly, annual, or founding member.
Here’s what your membership actually does:
It buys time. Time for me to dig into documents, court filings, FARA registrations, UN reports — all the boring, ugly paperwork that hides the truth about power. Time to be on the phone with people on the ground, to listen to mothers and fathers and survivors tell their stories in full, not in thirty-second clips.
It buys independence. Independence from political parties, from corporate agendas, from the quiet pressure to “tone it down” for advertisers. I need to be able to say that something is genocide when it’s genocide, that a policy is racist when it’s racist, that a leader is lying when they’re lying — without worrying about whether a sponsor is going to pull out.
And it builds what comes next.
I’m working to launch a new video-first podcast, The Shaun King Show — where we can break these stories down face-to-face, where we can bring on guests, show receipts live on screen, and reach people who will never read a long article but will watch a powerful conversation. To do that well, I need to hire staff whose only job is to help research, produce, and edit this work so it can reach more people, more clearly, more consistently.
When you become a member, you’re not tipping me for a post you liked. You’re literally helping build the team and the tools we need to keep telling the truth in a louder, sharper way.
Sisters and brothers, I know the world is heavy. I know money is tight. I would never ask you to give what you don’t have.
But if you do have some margin, if you’ve ever read one of these pieces and thought, “I needed this,” I’m asking you to match that feeling with action.

Love and appreciate each of you.
Your friend and brother,
Shaun
