We the US taxpayer are paying a per day fee per person. That is supposed to pay for food, beds, necessities. How do we get that information? If these private companies are making billions, it come out of the bodies and their care billings. Fraud, waste and theft are running rampant. I guarantee it.

A country that was founded on slavery and inequality then pressed forward with Jim Crow and further segregation during Reconstruction then persisted in torture and lawlessness after the Civil Rights years and now has come to this? Where is the inconsistency. This is 100% American.

We had complete detention of slaves for more than 200 years - human bodies were owned and "detained" in whatever place and condition the owners chose. In more recent times Americans of Japanese descent were detained in concentration camps. Our prisons contain more humans than in any country on earth, many without fair judicial process. Again, nothing that isn't already in our American history.
