Thank you dear sister. No. I was beaten very badly all the way back in 1995, then had a brutal car accident in 2002. This will be my 5th spinal surgery. They have to remove titanium discs they installed early last year because my spine had a reaction to them and it is destroying the bone of my spine. They will have to remove those, try to clean it up, fuse those two levels and the two levels below it.
Well, it certainly sounds "big", all that they are going to do to you....thank you so much for explaining. So sorry for all the pain you are enduring, and the more that you will have. I'll hold you close.
Well, you are facing a major hurdle. I’ve had 4 spinal fusions, some vertebral spacers have been cadaver bone, some metal, but definitely the plates and screws have been titanium. So I have major empathy for your apprehension. However, the only option is to go forward and hopefully this will be a positive result and decrease your significant pain levels. I send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers as you undergo this corrective surgery. I will miss your column in the the meantime 💔❤️🩹💝
I’m curious what your diagnosis is or what your surgery is I’ve had spinal surgery before I actually was on my spinal cord. It was tethered and they had to tether it and it was I mean looking back. I don’t really remember it as a terrible terrible time but I know in the moment it was and it was scary. I am chronically ill obviously and disabled myself so I’m not able to really financially help anyone I just actually spent a friend with DS some money to get some food this week, but I do wish you all the best. I know it’s stuff just I hope you trust surgeon that you have placed your body in his aunt his or her hands and that everything goes as expected or better.

Shaun, you are not saying, but is it the big scoliosis surgery - is that what you have ?
I myself was faced with its possibility over 10 years ago, and chose an elastic brace
instead. The "big surgery" would have taken me a year to recover from.
Whatever yours is, you are totally in my heart and prayers. So sorry I don't have money.
