My friends, I have good news — but it comes with a serious challenge.

As of right now, 641 supporters have raised $82,127 to help us build a school for orphaned children in Gaza. That is real progress, and I am grateful for every single person who has helped us get this far.

But now we have a major opportunity in front of us.

LaunchGood has told us they will give this project an extra $10,000 if we reach $150,000 by Tuesday at 7pm EST.

And if we somehow reach the full $250,000 goal by Tuesday at 7pm EST, they will increase that bonus to $20,000 total.

Not $20,000 on top of the $10,000.

$20,000 total.

That is still enormous.

That bonus could help us strengthen the school, possibly add another classroom, and serve even more orphaned children in Gaza. But we only unlock it if we move quickly.

I want to explain the timing, especially for the many non-Muslims on my list.

For Muslims around the world, we are in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, which we believe are the most sacred days of the year. These are the days leading into Eid al-Adha, the holiday connected to sacrifice, obedience to Allah, and care for those in need.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that righteous deeds in these days are especially beloved to Allah.

That means prayer matters.

Charity matters.

Service matters.

Standing with the oppressed matters.

Caring for orphans matters.

And right now, we have a chance to turn these blessed days into something concrete for orphaned children in Gaza.

A school.

Not a slogan. Not a symbolic gesture. A real school.

A wonderful priest in Chicago has already agreed to give the first $5,000 toward this new push.

That moved me.

A Christian priest stepping forward during these sacred Muslim days to help orphaned children in Gaza is exactly the kind of moral clarity this moment requires. It reminds me that mercy does not belong to one community alone. Compassion is not supposed to stop at the borders of our own faith, our own country, or our own comfort.

Once that gift lands, we will be at $87,127.

That means we will need $62,873 more to reach $150,000 and unlock LaunchGood’s $10,000 bonus.

And if we want to reach the full $250,000 by Tuesday at 7pm EST, we will need $162,873 more after that pledged gift lands.

I know those are big numbers.

I know this is hard.

But this is exactly why we have to use the deadline. We have to use the blessing of Dhul Hijjah. We have to use the bonus funds. We have to use the momentum we already have.

Because this school only gets built if we raise the funds.

The school is being designed for orphaned children in Gaza ages 5–9, serving Grades 1, 2, and 3.

These are children who should be learning how to read, write, count, study Qur’an, ask questions, play safely, and sit in a classroom with a teacher who knows their name. Instead, many have spent the past two years surrounded by displacement, hunger, fear, grief, and the loss of family.

A school will not erase all of that pain, but it can give them something real and urgently needed: structure, safety, learning, play, counselling, routine, and adults who are invested in their future.

The proposed school includes 6 fully equipped classrooms with space for approximately 270 children, around 45 students per classroom. It includes 6 washrooms, each with its own separate exterior entrance, an administrative office, a teachers’ room, a dedicated counsellor’s space, solar power support, electrical infrastructure, secure perimeter fencing, and an outdoor artificial grass play area.

And now, if we reach the full goal and receive the larger bonus, we may be able to add another classroom and serve even more children.

That is why this deadline matters so much.

Here is the math.

Right now, we are at $82,127.

A priest in Chicago has pledged $5,000, which would bring us to $87,127 once it lands.

To unlock the first $10,000 LaunchGood bonus, we need to reach $150,000 by Tuesday at 7pm EST. That means we need $62,873 more after that pledged gift lands.

To reach the full $250,000 and qualify for the full $20,000 total bonus, we need $162,873 more after that pledged gift lands.

That could happen with a few major donors, thousands of small donors, or — most likely — a combination of both.

We need the person who can give $5 and refuses to sit this out.

We need the person who can give $50 during these sacred days.

We need families who can give $500 or $1,000.

We need donors who can give $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, or $100,000.

And I am praying for the person, family, masjid, church, business, or foundation that can cover a major portion of what remains.

Every gift matters. But this is the moment where large gifts could truly change everything.
