If you only care about an injustice when you think Donald Trump did it, then you don't really care about the injustice at all. It's just politics to you.

I wholeheartedly agree. Yet, Trump has taken it to another level. And his overt racism, Epstein files, looting of America, tearing down the Whitehouse, White Supremacy inner and outer circle, demanding monuments to be built for him, buildings and airports named after him, pardoning rich drug lords and the lies, after lies, after lies, and I could go on…the funding of genocide, I think these gives him the edge. Its more current…Sending ICE into states that didn’t vote for him…We are full on fascism now…

Been getting pushback from Obama fans on exactly this. They don't like when you bring up the Deporter-in-Chief as Latinos call him. They also don't like when you mention what he's done to Libya and the return fo slavery there, with the help of France and my own country, the UK, along with his numerous crimes.

ICE have been built with slave catcher DNA from day one, the problems are systemic, inseparable and it's why they need to be abolished, not reformed. They're not a broken institution, they are realising their full potential and working as intended.

There will be no defunding this time.

Indeed. We must fight back against cruelty and injustice no matter who it is from.

I can't believe that you have to state the obvious to grown ups, brother. Anyone who has to be spoon fed that needs to get his mental faculties evaluated by a psychiatrist.

It’s a frequent failing that people think Biden was a good president, and, actually that Obama was. I have been educated on their failings as I tend to appreciate politeness, intelligence and articulate speeches. And I remember when the elections came up friends saying they didn’t want to vote for either candidate.

What is true is that Trump is a terrible president and all sorts of evil people have been enabled. But when you look at deportation and detention the figures have been awful in the past too.

The treatment of this sick child is similar to the inhumanity we’ve experienced with our hunger strikers, and with much worse consequences.

How can we criticise other countries human rights without mending our own societies?

Spot on Tricia

The cruelty, racism, fascism don't change with the color of the uniform or the skin of the perpetrator. Anyone who paints this as "their side our side" is cheering for the same game. We know whoever wins, the helpless always lose.

Some of us have been raising this issue for years… The cruelty has been ratcheted up, but it’s been operative for a long time.

I mean… it goes back even further. Barack Obama’s nickname was “Deporter In Chief”. Now, I get that this country wants to get rid of miscreants, but in order to achieve that status of Deporter in Chief, his administration must have deported a whole bunch of good people because the number of criminals among immigrants is extremely low.

If we have say 15 million undocumented (indigenous peoples of the Americas, but that’s a story for another day) people and the Obama administration deported about 4 million, that means that millions of non criminal immigrants were deported since the proportion of criminals in the immigrant community is about 685 per 100,000 (compared to 1320 per 100,000 in the US - born group).

That means that out of the 15,000,000 undocumented people only 103,000 were some sort of criminal (from bad checks to murder). So the other 3.9 million deportees were simply for show. To satisfy the sadistic cruelty of the citizens who were watching.

Okay let's get something straight we don't have Republicans and Democratic parties. We have one party take care of the 1 percent at any cost and there is no WE THE PEOPLE It's WE THE ONE PERCENT. AND ANYONE WHO gets into office with empathy for those THE REGULAR PEOPLE gets kicked out BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. WE THE REGULAR PEOPLE NEED TO SAY, SHOW US THE MONEY
