🌙 Day 1 of Ramadan: Let’s feed Gaza tonight—and every night this month
We’re at $107,139. Help us reach $1.5M to fund nightly warm meals in Gaza.
As-Salaam-Alaikum, my dear sisters and brothers.
Today is the first day of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah. Ramadan Mubarak to you and your families.
This morning I need to tell you something with complete honesty: now our real work begins. Not speeches. Not slogans. Not vibes. Work.
Because for families in Gaza, Ramadan is arriving under conditions no human being should ever have to endure—after over two years of genocide, starvation, displacement, and daily grief. And whether we like it or not, the world has proven that it will watch almost anything… and then move on.
So we are not moving on.
We are showing up.
Right now, we’ve raised $107,139 with 1,111 supporters. I am grateful for every single person who has given. But I’m aiming far higher, because the need is far higher:
Our goal is $1.5 million this Ramadan to provide warm Iftar meals to as many Palestinian families in Gaza as humanly possible.
If you’re ready to give today, please support the people of Gaza this Ramadan.
Let me say a few important things plainly, up front:
This fundraiser is tax-deductible.
It is Zakat-eligible.
And I want to be crystal clear: I do not receive a percentage or a single penny from this fundraiser. Not one cent. This is about food. This is about families. This is about keeping people alive and preserving dignity.
And yes—if you believe in the special reward of giving in Ramadan, you already know: this is the month where small deeds become mountains. This is the month where mercy multiplies. This is the month where feeding a fasting person isn’t just charity—it is worship.
Please give here: support the people of Gaza this Ramadan.
What I’m asking you to do today
I’m not asking you to “care.” I’m asking you to act.
Because Gaza does not need our feelings. Gaza needs food.
So here’s the Day 1 mission: give today, then bring one person with you. One friend. One family member. One coworker. One group chat. One masjid WhatsApp thread. One person.
If every person reading this gave something—anything—and brought one other person with them, this campaign would move like a tidal wave.

Why I’m going to post every single day
I’m going to write at least one fundraising post every day this month, and some days I’ll write more than one.
Not because I enjoy asking.
But because the people of Gaza do not get a day off from hunger. They do not get a break from trauma. They do not get to close the app and move on with their lives.
And if you’re like me—if you’ve felt overwhelmed by catastrophe after catastrophe—then this Ramadan is your chance to turn that overwhelming feeling into something clear and purposeful.
A warm meal at Iftar.
A mother watching her children eat.
A father feeling, for one night, that he was able to provide.
A family sitting together, even if the walls around them are shattered.
That is what this is.
Give today: support the people of Gaza this Ramadan.
The simplest way to understand the impact
You don’t have to solve everything in Gaza today.
But you can do something real.
You can help put food on the table tonight.
And I know how people think—because I’ve been doing this for a long time—so let me address the quiet questions:
“Is my donation too small?”
No. In Ramadan, nothing given for Allah is “too small.” And practically, campaigns like this are powered by volume—many people doing what they can.
“Should I wait for later in Ramadan?”
No. Give now, then give again if you can. The earlier we build momentum, the more families we can serve consistently. A strong Day 1 matters. It sets the tone for the whole month.
“Can I trust that this is handled properly?”
This is being done through LaunchGood with Human Concern International, and I’m going to keep giving updates and pushing receipts and transparency all month long.
And again: I take $0 from this. No percentage. No consulting fee. No admin cut to me. I’m simply trying to feed people.

The reward of Ramadan—and the dignity of feeding people
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like theirs.
If you’re not Muslim, here’s what that means in plain language: Ramadan teaches us that hunger is not an abstraction. It teaches that the body has rights. It teaches that the poor are not background characters. It teaches that mercy is something you do, not something you say.
And when you feed a fasting person—especially in a place like Gaza—you’re doing something that reaches beyond food. You’re restoring dignity.
You’re saying: we see you.
You’re saying: you are not alone.
You’re saying: your life matters.
Please donate today: support the people of Gaza this Ramadan.
A clear Ramadan pledge I’m asking you to make
Some of you are able to give one strong gift today. Do that.
Some of you can give weekly. Do that.
Some of you can give daily—small or large. Do that.
But for everyone reading this, I’m asking you to make one pledge:
Don’t let Ramadan pass without feeding Gaza.
And if you’ve already donated, I’m asking you to take the next step that multiplies everything:

Day 1 matters more than people realize
I’ve seen it again and again: the first day of a campaign creates the story the whole month follows.
Momentum attracts momentum.
So today, I’m asking for a surge—not because I want a screenshot, but because I want stability. I want to know we can fund the meals consistently. I want to lock in the capacity so that families are not left wondering whether the food will run out.
We are at $107,139 right now.
Let’s make Day 1 so strong that the rest of Ramadan becomes inevitable.
