Thanks for writing about the possibilities of stopping this madness through the GA! I don't read detail on the UN, but clearly I should be. I hope they move quickly to get that 2/3 vote - from the clip showing the walk-out on Netanyahu, it seems hopeful.

Petro and you are correct, UNGA could definitely do this. But question is will they. Time is of the essence so they need to act now!

Couldn’t they do this AGAIN for Ukraine as well? Russia is still bombing civilians and civilian areas.

"What Petro is proposing — in plain terms

Use “Uniting for Peace.” When vetoes paralyze the Security Council, the General Assembly can convene an Emergency Special Session and, by two-thirds vote, recommend collective measures — up to and including armed protection to restore peace.

Assemble an “army of humanity.” Not a single nation’s invasion, but a multinational protection force built to shield civilians and force real negotiations.

Pair force with pressure. Petro is explicit that sanctions and follow-on Assembly action should accompany the force to compel talks that cannot be ignored."

Well, Why wasn't this done well over a year ago? Seems like too little too late, but sure go for it.
