Family, this afternoon I watched President Donald Trump stand in the United Kingdom beside Prime Minister Keir Starmer as a reporter asked him a clear, moral question: “You alone in the whole world have the power to persuade Netanyahu to stop the demolition of Gaza City, to stop the starvation of Palestine, and stop the killing of civilians.”

Trump could’ve answered in many ways. He could’ve called for an immediate ceasefire. He could’ve pledged to use America’s leverage. Instead, he smirked and said, “But you do understand about October 7th?”

The reporter, who identified himself as Jewish, responded: “I’m a Jew so I understand.”

And then Trump said these words: “We have to remember October 7th—one of the worst, most violent days in the history of the world. I want an end. I want the hostages released.”

It’s what he said next that is so despicable.

“I have seen the tapes. Babies that are 4 months old. Just chopped to pieces.”

Family, that is a lie. A demonstrable, fabricated lie. No 4-month-old baby was chopped to pieces on October 7th. It never happened.

This is not an exaggeration. It’s not “kind of true.” It’s not “partially true.” It is pure fiction. And it only leaves us with two possible explanations:

• Trump just made it up, in the moment, because that is what men like Trump do. They lie reflexively, until lies outnumber words. He needed something shocking to throw back at a question about Gaza’s mass suffering, so he reached for propaganda — the same way Joe Biden reached for false atrocity stories in the first weeks of this genocide.

• Or Israel fabricated something, showed it to Trump, and convinced him he was watching real footage. Governments invent stories all the time to justify violence. They hand them to leaders. They hand them to journalists. And the lies circulate as if they are evidence.

But here’s the truth: every single victim from October 7th has long been named. The names of the dead are public. The families are known.

And all any serious reporter needs to do is ask: “Mr. President, please give us the names of those babies. Tell us their parents’ names.”

No such names exist. No such families exist. Rest assured, if Jewish babies had been chopped into pieces on October 7th, you would know their names by heart. Their pictures would be everywhere. Their stories would run on every news channel every day. Instead, what we have is Trump, nearly two years later, inventing new atrocity myths to excuse the starvation of Gaza’s 2.2 million people.

And that raises the deeper question: if October 7th was truly as they describe it, if the facts alone were enough, why keep inventing? Why did they float the “40 beheaded babies” lie? Why the ovens, the burned children, the fantasies of massacres that evaporated under scrutiny? Why keep piling lies on lies if the truth is enough?

Family, pause with me here. Lies like this are not harmless. They are not “mistakes.” They are weapons. Every time a leader repeats a fabricated atrocity, it becomes justification for starving children, for bombing hospitals, for flattening Gaza City. These lies are not just words — they are cover for mass murder.

Trump said he has “seen the tapes.”

But there are no tapes of 4-month-old babies chopped to pieces, because no such babies exist.

And yet here he is, repeating fiction to millions, standing beside the British Prime Minister, giving cover for genocide.

This is why our work here matters. Because mainstream outlets will not say it was a lie. They will repeat it uncritically. They will amplify it. They will let it harden into memory. But we will not. Here, we will say clearly: no 4-month-old baby was chopped to pieces on October 7th. It is a lie.

And if we do not confront these lies the moment they appear, they become “truth” in the collective memory. They become the foundation on which genocides are built. They become the scaffolding that future mass killings are justified upon.
