⏰ 14 hours to sponsor as many Gaza orphans as we can! And the winner gets a $15,000 prize for the orphans!
Sponsor 1 orphan for $99/month • Zakat-eligible • tax-deductible in US & Canada.
Family,
I want to start with the good news:
When I went to sleep and when I woke up this morning, I saw that you are showing up for the orphans of Gaza.
We are now at 1,290 donors on our LaunchGood page, on our way to 3,000.
That means 1,290 people have already said, “I refuse to watch these children suffer alone.”
If you’re not one of those 1,290 yet, I’m asking you from my heart:
Please click here to sponsor an orphan in Gaza with me.
What we’re trying to do in these 24 hours
For this 24-hour window, LaunchGood has set up a simple challenge:
The charity that sponsors the most orphans today will receive an extra $15,000 for their project.
I want that bonus to go straight to our long-term orphan program with Human Concern International (HCI).
Here’s the core of this campaign:
Sponsoring one orphan in Gaza is $99/month
We’re asking you to commit for 5 years, from now until 2029
It’s a serious commitment, and that’s the point.
These children didn’t just lose their parents for a day. They lost the people who were supposed to be there for every birthday, every school exam, every nightmare. We can’t fix that, but we can show up in a consistent way that actually changes the shape of their lives.
If you’re able, I’m asking you to sponsor at least one orphan right now:
Click here to sponsor an orphan in Gaza.
For Muslims and non-Muslims, this door is open
For my Muslim family:
This campaign is Zakat-eligible. If you’ve been holding your Zakat or sadaqah, this is one of the most powerful ways you can use it right now.
Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was an orphan. Our faith is full of promises for those who care for orphaned children, in this life and in Jannah.
For those who are not Muslim:
Everything about this project is open to you as well. You don’t need to share our faith to share this work.
Your sponsorship is tax-deductible in both the United States and Canada.
At the deepest level this is not about religion, it’s about refusing to let children who have lost everything face the next five years with nothing.
Whoever you are, if you care about these kids, this is for you.
Why I trust this project with my life
I know there has been so much noise, so many accusations, so much confusion online about aid to Gaza. Let me be as clear as I can.
100% of what you give goes directly to Human Concern International, not to me.
I have helped route nearly $4 million in direct aid for Gaza through HCI.
HCI is a long-standing, Canada-registered Muslim charity, and its Executive Director, Mahmuda, is a brilliant, devout Muslim woman I know personally and trust.
I now serve as an Ambassador for HCI’s work, but I do not receive a percentage of the funds raised, and I do nothave access to the bank accounts for this fundraiser.
My role is to use my platform to build awareness and invite you into this work. That’s it.
If trust has been the thing holding you back, I’m telling you plainly: I would not be putting my name, my time, and my reputation behind this if I wasn’t fully convinced it was the right vehicle to help these children.
Please sponsor an orphan if you haven’t yet.
If you’ve already given
If you’re already one of the 1,290 donors: I love you and I appreciate you.
Two things you can do that would still make a huge difference:
If you can stretch, sponsor one more orphan or increase your monthly amount even a little. Some of you have the ability to do that and may even be looking for a meaningful, tax-deductible year-end commitment.
Share the link with at least three people in your life – family, friends, a group chat, your masjid, your church, your book club, your coworkers.
Tell them: “If you want to do one concrete thing for Gaza today, sponsor an orphan through this link.”
Here it is again:
Support orphans in Gaza with HCI and Shaun.
We’re at 1,290 donors right now. I’d love to see us cross 1,400 before the afternoon is over and keep climbing from there. If even a small fraction of the people reading this decide, “I’m in,” we will get there.
Thank you for reading this far. Thank you for caring. And thank you to every single person who decides today that one of these children will not be forgotten.
Love and appreciate each of you.
Your friend and brother,
Shaun
