🕯️ 12 Days Until Ramadan and Families in Gaza Are Hungry. Together We Will Help Them!

We need 15,000 people to help provide warm meals—this is a heart-to-heart.

Family,

I want to speak to you plainly and from the heart. I am a journalist. That’s why you are here. But I am also an activist and humanitarian. And that’s also why you are here.

I write articles about injustice in the world, but what brings me alive is doing something to help the people impacted by injustice. That’s my life’s work.

Right now, together, we’ve raised $66,686 from 728 donors for Gaza. I’m deeply grateful for every single person who has given. That number represents love, intention, and people refusing to look away.

But with just 12 days until Ramadan, we are not where we need to be yet.

To provide $1.5 million in warm meals during Ramadan—to make sure families in Gaza can break their fast with dignity—we are going to need at least 15,000 donors. And we need to raise as much as humanly possible in these next 12 days, because the food for the first days of Ramadan must be purchased now.

This is the hard truth: there is no single kind of donor that makes this work.
When we’ve reached goals like this before, it has always been because some people gave $15,000 or $10,000 or $1,000, while others gave $5, $50, or $100—literally the very best they could do. This only works when all of us do what we can, without comparison and without guilt.

If you’re able to give at a larger level right now, please hear this clearly: your generosity will carry thousands of families through the first days of Ramadan.
If what you can give is small, please hear this just as clearly: you are not less important. A $5 gift multiplied by thousands of people is how movements survive.

• And 100% of it goes directly to feeding people in Gaza

In Gaza, families are preparing for Ramadan under siege—scarcity where there should be abundance, grief where there should be joy. Parents are already skipping meals so their children can eat. Elders are going without. And Ramadan is coming whether we are ready or not.
