Cyntoia Brown, Released from Prison, Plans to Use Her Experience to Help Women

Cyntoia Brown was released from the Tennessee Prison for Women on August 7 after serving 15 years of a life sentence for killing a man who solicited her for sex when she was just 16 years old, the Department of Corrections announced. Days before her release, Brown thanked her supporters and asked for privacy as she returned home.   “While first giving honor to God who made all of this possible, I would also like to thank my many supporters who have spoken on my behalf and prayed for me,” Brown said in a statement, according to
