Former Boston Red Sox star David Ortiz was flown to Boston, Massachusetts on June 10, a day after he was shot and seriously injured in his native Dominican Republic. Ortiz, better known in Boston as “Big Papi,” was at the Dial Bar and Lounge in East Santo Domingo on June 9 when he was shot by a gunman at close range, authorities said.
